CNN has the best and the worst of President Donald Trump’s media team in its list of “The 100 Best and Worst” that it compiled.
The network listed some of the worst coverage, including Trump’s claim that he had a “great relationship” with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump tweeted the debunked claim on May 1, but CNN quickly retracted it.
The outlet also picked up on Trump’s attempt to deflect criticism from the death of DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
“The death of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz was a terrible loss for the Democratic Party and for America,” Trump said during a May 2 interview on Fox News.
“I think Debbie Wasserman Shultz and the DNC rigged the election, and I think she should be shot.”
CNN also called out CNN host Fareed Zakaria for his coverage of the investigation into the DNC’s cyberattack on the 2016 presidential election.
“CNN has a long record of reporting on false, incendiary and inflammatory news,” the network said in a statement.
“That includes reporting on the ‘Bowling Green Massacre’ in which a soldier killed five fellow soldiers in Iraq, and CNN was critical of President Trump’s handling of the tragedy, but has not retracted those stories.”
CNN has been criticized for using a controversial “birther” conspiracy theory about President Barack Obama’s birthplace to push the 2016 election.
The CNN website also cited a fake story about “deaths linked to ‘biracic Muslims,'” which CNN said was a “factually inaccurate” report.
Trump has also defended his tweet, calling it “a fair assessment of the facts.”
He later called the false claim a “total hoax.”
